‘Softening into Spaciousness’ with Danny Jolly and Sarah Pace
The last step of a three-step breathing space invites us to open out from a grounded anchor, into a broader sense of spacious connection. On this retreat day we'll intentionally explore how this sense of spaciousness can begin to support insight and create the conditions for positive emotions to emerge.
With our human tendency to see the world through a lens of scarcity or 'not good enough', it can be helpful to notice the spaciousness available to us in daily life - which can support us in responding creatively when the mind and body contract around difficult emotions.
Through a variety of standard, and adapted, mindfulness-based practices and postures, using the body, imagination and metaphor, we'll explore how our experience can be gently held by spaciousness. By cultivating mindful awareness we have the potential to open into spaciousness.
The online silent retreat will include:
· Periods of both guided and self-directed practice
· short talks
· periods of silence to enable you to connect more fully with your inner experience
· an encouragement to use the time in the morning and afternoon breaks and lunch break for self-care, and continued silent practice
